Our Mission
Our mission is to provide nourishing and delicious meals to underprivileged individuals in Southeast Michigan, alleviating hunger and restoring dignity.
We are guided by principles of compassion, service, and divine grace. From this humble beginning, we aspire to expand our reach by establishing additional distribution points.
We have embarked on a mission to address food insecurity within the Detroit community.
We have forged a meaningful partnership with a dedicated local catering company. This collaboration centers on the preparation of healthy and well-balanced side dishes to enhance the nutritional value of the overall meals provided to those in need. Each week, we provide over 450 servings of nourishing side dishes.
We work in cooperation with two prominent soup kitchens located within Detroit. We chose these soup kitchens for their reach and commitment to serving vulnerable populations. With this systematic approach, we are able to ensure that individuals facing hardship receive consistent access to wholesome and enriching additions to their daily meals.
This initiative is a testament to our belief that access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right.
We have combined the culinary expertise of our catering partner with our organizational commitment to reach needy individuals in the Detroit community. This is already making a tangible difference in the lives of many people - better health and a sense of dignity.
It is already happening, one healthy and tasty bite at a time.
What we’re doing
Our Goal
Our long term goal is much bigger.
We aim to establish and operate our own soup kitchen in an underserved area in the coming years, while continuing our current collaboration with existing soup kitchens.
This dual approach is needed to maximize our reach and effectiveness. By partnering with these vital community resources, we want to help them leverage their infrastructure, volunteer networks, and local knowledge to distribute more meals more efficiently.
Even as we work towards our independent facility, we will continue to support and enhance the broader network of food assistance in the city.
